Netherlands

The Netherlands may be rainy throughout the year but the richness of culture, art, history and architecture as well as the greenery within city life make up for it. Famous for its unique windmills, tulip fields and artistic history, Holland is a country offering more than just picturesque landscapes. On top of the list is, of course, Amsterdam.

Home to international locals, the beautiful canal, plenty of delicious restaurants and the famous cafe culture. The Netherlands provides the perfect getaway for families, solo travellers and friend groups alike and Dutch friendliness goes a long way when familiarising yourself with the cities or the countryside.

If you are going to Amsterdam, make sure to plan out your trip and reserve your space in museums as there are always queues. From learning about heart clenching history in Ann Frank’s house to discovering the genius of Van Gogh in Van Gogh Museum, there is no doubt Amsterdam has many things to see. However, the other two big cities: The Hague and Rotterdam are also worth a visit. It’s fairly easy to reach everywhere in the country by train in 1 hour and a half maximum.

Best Times to Visit The Netherlands

Summer is tourists’ favourite time of the year to enjoy the cafes in Amsterdam, and stroll around the canal but it’s easier to find cheap tickets to Netherlands off-season. This doesn’t have to mean you will have to give up on good weather. In season in Holland begins mid-April and lasts until the end of October.

Tourist season begins mid-June lasts until the end of September. In summer, the average temperature is about 19 degrees and in winter it falls to 2 degrees. If temperatures fall enough, ice skaters can enjoy skating along the canals, rivers or lakes.
