Countries in Europe that You Can Enter from the UK If You’re Double Vaccinated

If you still haven’t left the windy island that is the United Kingdom, this is your sign to book your flight. For those who are double vaccinated, these countries in Europe have opened their doors. You don’t have to quarantine in the European countries we listed below; including Spain, Croatia, and Germany.

European Destinations on the Green List

When you visit a green list destination, you don’t have to quarantine upon your return to the UK. You still have to pay for a Day 2 test when you return, and book a PCR test to prove you are ‘fit to fly’.

Madeira

Portugal is currently on the amber list, but the autonomous region of Madeira is on the green watchlist. This means it can move to the amber list with short notice, but Madeira is still welcoming UK travellers without quarantine whether they are vaccinated or not. You just have to present a negative PCR test upon arrival.

Croatia

You can enter Croatia even if you’re not fully vaccinated by presenting either a negative antigen test (taken less than 48 hours), or a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours). Make sure that you print out a valid booking of your accommodation or proof of property ownership in Croatia.

Malta

Malta is only accepting fully vaccinated travellers and is accepting the NHS app as proof.

Iceland

Iceland has now made it easier for UK travellers to enter the country. If you can prove you are fully vaccinated or that you have previously recovered from Covid-19, you will only need to quarantine until you receive the result of a PCR test you take on arrival. If you are travelling with vaccinated passengers who are 17 or younger, they must present a negative PCR or antigen test (not older than 72 hours) prior to arrival.

European Destinations on the Amber List

When you visit an amber list destination, you don’t have to quarantine when you return to the UK if you’re fully vaccinated (except for returns from France). You still have to pay for a Day 2 test when you return, and book a PCR test to prove you are ‘fit to fly’.

Germany

Germany designated the UK as a ‘high-incidence area’, but travellers who are fully vaccinated aren’t required to quarantine upon arrival. Children under 12 who haven’t been vaccinated can only enter Germany if they present proof of a negative test result, and travel with at least one fully vaccinated parent.

Greece

Greece is accepting travellers from the UK who can either provide a negative PCR test, proof of recovery or proof of full vaccination.

Cyprus

If you’re fully vaccinated, you don’t have to take a PCR test before departure or on arrival. Everyone travelling to Cyprus must get a Cyprus flight pass.

Switzerland

UK travellers going to Switzerland are required to show either proof of vaccination, proof of recovery in the last six months or a negative Covid-19 test taken prior to departure. You can also show a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival or a rapid antigen test taken within 48 hours of arrival. Children under the age of 16 are exempt from testing.

Spain

There is no quarantine in Spain even if you are not fully vaccinated. Spain requires UK travellers to present either a negative PCR test or proof of vaccination.

Portugal

Although Madeira is welcoming UK travellers, Portugal has actually made it a bit more difficult to enter the country. However, fully vaccinated UK travellers don’t have to quarantine. You must still provide a negative PCR test upon arrival.

Poland

Fully vaccinated travellers from the UK are not required to quarantine in Poland. If you are fully vaccinated, you are exempt from quarantine on arrival in Poland, but 14 days must have passed since your final dose.
